Deep Roots in District 90

Sharon Carter’s roots run deep here in District 90. After graduating from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in 1988, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and began a 19 year career teaching at various elementary schools in the Lowcountry.

She has been married to her husband, Mark, for 33 years. She has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Like many families in District 90, they had to raise their children elsewhere to secure high paying jobs. This is one of the many reasons Sharon is running for the South Carolina State House of Representatives, District 90.

Sharon’s community involvement is not limited to:

  • Sunday School Teacher & Choir Director

  • Member of the South Carolina Department of Education Improvement Council

  • Volunteer at the Lowcountry Crisis Pregnancy Center in Orangeburg

  • Active in the Speak Up for Foster Care initiative

  • Chairman of the Bamberg County Republican Party.
